Many of the children served by My Very Own Bed are very young, which means durable board books are especially helpful and in the highest demand.
To make donating easier, we’ve clearly marked which titles above are board books. If you’re unsure what to choose, selecting board books is a wonderful way to support the program’s greatest need.
“My Very Own Bed provides a book in each Dream Kit to remind children that reading at night is one way to prepare our minds and bodies for a good night's sleep.
We are committed to providing books that reflect the diversity of the children receiving beds so that all children can see themselves as authors, adventurers, superheroes.
We are also committed to supporting local, Black-owned businesses, which is why we so highly value our partnership with Strive Publishing & Bookstore.
We are grateful for The Collective Book Studio's willingness to come alongside both organizations to make it easy and affordable to purchase their books and to support Strive by donating a portion of the funds raised from these sales.”
Benefit Literacy Initiatives
Proceeds from these purchases also help support Strive Bookstore, an initiative dedicated to expanding access to books and literacy opportunities in the community.
By donating books through this program, you’re helping get meaningful stories into the hands of children while also supporting a mission-driven bookstore focused on making reading more accessible for everyone.
